Willingness:
This is the first quality which we look for in a potential donor. You have to be prepared to undergo hormonal treatment. This is to stimulate the ovaries to produce a large number of mature follicles.
In order to collect the matured eggs, you will be required to undergo a relatively simple surgical procedure. In short, the treatment requires time and involves some physical inconveniences. In rare cases,
the procedure is not entirely without risk.
For these reasons, the CRG prefers to approach women who are themselves receiving fertility treatment. Not only do they understand what it means to be confronted with conception difficulties,
they can also more easily accept the conditions of the treatment itself.
Time: This is the second most important factor. You will have to be able to make time for the various visits to the hospital for examinations and treatment. You will also be required to undergo regular ultrasound scans either during the day or in the evenings for approximately two weeks. You will need to come to the hospital for about half a day when the eggs are collected.
